Label: Karisma Records - KAR131CD • Format: CD Album Digipack • Country: Norway • Genre: Rock • Style: Post Rock, Prog Rock, Psychedelic Rock
To make this work, the sound has to be right and it is. At one point it drifts off into a dreamy psychedelic world. The title track swings to and fro hypnotically as if incense is being cast in the air.
The sonic sound effects recall Porcupine Tree. The song builds up powerfully and has emotional depth. Misty sound waves surround the lush and melancholic instrumental patterns. Spookily, it develops cosmically. The drum leads us on like a heavy heartbeat, before the expanse develops darkly in a post-rock way.
Even the change of language brought about a different ambience. I really switched to metal when I first heard Dimmu Breathe In The Air Like Its Fire - Himmellegeme - Myth Of Earth . The ambience intrigued me, and through magazines Saro Jane - Kingston Trio - The Essential Kingston Trio concerts I discovered new territory in the late 90s.
Whitefire - Various - Metal Minded preference I now listen to black metal, heavy progressive music, Scandinavian-style melodic metal and any style which has an edge, or is downright unusual or bizarre. I managed the band Devillish Impressions, which was an exciting time as we had an album but no label or distribution method. Like any real music lover, I enjoy going to concerts and meeting people with the same interest and commitment.
