Snakebite is the first official release by the British hard rock band Whitesnake. Snakebite was re-released in September as a Double Extended Play containing four extra studio tracks taken from David Coverdale 's second solo album Northwinds.

Shortly after producing and then touring in support of NorthwindsCoverdale found that his new band was already producing and testing new material. Thus they returned to the studio to capture this newfound energy. Some of the songs from this album would be captured later in and released on the Live In the Heart of the City live album. May 24,  · SNAKEBITE is a collection of good and honest songs. There are some good rock'n'roll ("Come On", "Bloody Mary"), a funky gem ("Keep on giving me love"), the definitive Micky Moody's slide guitar work ("Steal Away") and a hard rock that, if recorded during the Deep Purple era, would be considered a classic: "Breakdown"/5.
