Thunder in the East is the fifth studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Loudnessand the first released by a major American label after the contract signed with Atco Recordsthen a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. Aside from being the band's first all-English release, it is the first Loudness album produced by Max Normanwho also produced Lightning Strikes in and Soldier of Fortune in The album cover introduced the band's signature logo, which would be used in majority of their discography.

The remastered version includes the bonus tracks "Gotta Fight" and "Odin", which were originally released as singles for the anime film Odin: Photon Sailer Starlight. Sep 13,  · Akira Takasaki played with the intensity and prowess of a Michael Schenker or Eddie Van Halen, and was very underrated to say the least. 'Thunder In The East' was one of their best releases by far, and an example of 'metal done right' back from the heyday of the greatest hard rock and metal era - the 80's!!! This is a hard rock/metal CLASSIC/5(86).
